Obsolete ( October 2021) – Not Recommended for new installations – Use TRM-Easy5-Relay-U or TRM-Easy5-Panel
TRM Relay Unit Type-CV is designed to monitor TRM Sensor probes for two types of liquid leaks. Depending on the selected probe, the Relay Unit Type-CV can detect and report crude oil, natural gas condensates, diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, natural gas condensates and conductive fluids ranging from tap water, oil field brine to corrosive acids and bases.
Several TRM sensor probes feature dual sensing channels to detect both hydrocarbons and conductive liquids. The TRM Relay Unit Type-CV is designed to work with these dual channel probes and combine their output into a single Form-C dry contact alarm relay.
An important feature of the Type-CV is adjustable alarm thresholds for both the hydrocarbon and conductive fluid circuits. This capability permits the user to “dial out” rain water, snow melt and surface runoff in most cases such that casual water will be ignored while the targeted, more conductive acid, base or brine will still be detected. On the hydrocarbon side, adjustable threshold permits accommodation of longer sensor probes with higher starting resistance and improved response times for hard to detect hydrocarbons like hydraulic fluid or heavy fuel oil.
TRM Relay Unit Type-CV uses solid state logic devices and does not contain a microprocessor. No firmware or microprocessor clocking circuit provides higher reliability and virtually no electrical noise. TRM Relay Unit Type-CV operates on 12V DC. Two LEDs visible from the top of the unit indicate status.
The Relay Unit is available as a stand-alone DIN rail mounted device or can be supplied in its own wall mounted ABS enclosure with a wide range line voltage power supply and space for a zener safety barrier.
