TRM WaterWire®-CT crimp tool is a hand held, ratchet style crimping tool specially selected for compatibility with the nickel plated steel crips used for splicing and terminating TRM WaterWire®-HT sensor cable and TRM WaterWire®-JC jumper cable. Use of this hand held tool is highly recommended when splicing TRM WaterWire® cables. The die set and ratchet system incorporated in this tool assure that sufficient force is applied to complete an effective splice. Simple open jaw, plier type crimp tools CAN NOT BE USED. The high temperature, nickel plated steel crimp barrels supplied in the TRM WaterWire®-USK universal splice kit are necessary to maintain a strong electrical connection when the splice is raised to high temperature. But they are much stiffer and harder to crimp than ordinary copper alloy crimp barrels.
The installer must use high strength, nickel plated crimp barrels for an acceptable splice and the TRM WaterWire®-CT crimp tool is required to crimp these much stronger crimp barrels.
