TRM Relay Unit Type-DA
Data Sheet

TRM Relay Unit Type-DA is designed for TRM-CC probes in applications where a separate output signal for LEAK and TROUBLE is required. In some applications, the response to a LEAK detection is different than the response to a TROUBLE alarm. A LEAK detection might call for a immediate shutdown of pumps or processes, while a TROUBLE alarm might call for maintenance attention within a set time frame. The Type-DA provides these separate signals.

Because TRM Relay Unit Type-DA is always used with the TRM-CC probe and the target fluids are crude oil and refined fuels, alarm threshold adjustments are not necessary.

TRM Relay Unit Type-DA uses solid state logic devices and does not contain a microprocessor. No firmware or microprocessor clocking circuit provides higher reliability and virtually no electrical noise.  TRM Relay Unit Type-CV operates on 12 Vdc. A single multicolor LED indicates normal status (green), Trouble (yellow) or LEAK (red).

The Relay Unit is available as a stand-alone DIN rail mounted device or can be supplied in its own wall mounted ABS enclosure with a wide range line voltage power supply and space for a zener safety barrier.

Key Features

Form Factor:

  • Standard small instrument DIN rail mounted device requiring 1.43” (36 mm) of DIN rail space.

Dimensions:

  • 1.43” (36 mm) wide,  3.55” (90 mm) high, 2.26” (57 mm) tall.

Input terminals:

  • Two wire TRM-CC leader wire or jumper cable, 12 Vdc 14 AWG to 22 AWG wire range.

Output terminals:

  • 2 sets of Normally Open, Common and Normally Closed (Form-C) relay contacts rated for 0.5A @ 125 Vac or 1.0A at 24 Vdc. One set for LEAK and a second set for TROUBLE 14 AWG to 22 AWG wire range.  The TROUBLE relay is normally energized so loss of power can be remotely detected.

Multi-color LED:

  • Green for normal, power available
  • Yellow for TROUBLE
  • Red for LEAK

Current consumption:  maximum 80 mA when both relays are energized,   1.0 watt.

Alarm threshold adjustment:  10 turn trim pot for both hydrocarbon and conductive fluid adjustments
